About

I grew up in small town Manitoba without a whole lot of exciting options. I spent a lot of time looking for my ticket out, and quite literally that’s what I got. My father owned a welding shop and through a series of events, some good and some bad, I found myself working for him as an apprentice. I eventually earned my Journeyman Red Seal endorsement, or my ticket, as it’s referred to in the industry.
I moved west to the land of plenty - Alberta - and returned after a couple years having learned money only buys temporary happiness. I enrolled in school and before graduating I had a full-time job in the communications industry. A very different line of work then I had become accustom to in the coal mines and oil fields of Western Canada.
My experiences, both in the trades and in communications, has given me an interesting skill set. I have met the worst and I have met the best and I’ve found common ground with both. I learned everyone I meet, in someway and often in many ways, is my superior.
I’m now the business development manager with ICUC Moderation Services - the world’s leading human powered social media moderation and monitoring service. I work to educate global brands and agencies - marketing, pr and advertising - on what is possible in social media with human power. I’m living in Toronto now and working hard to keep up with demand in this market.
